Meet Phyllis...

I have a long story and I’d prefer not to tell tales and name names, so let’s just say I somehow ended up for adoption.  I was in a store that closed and several rescue groups and agencies took the other cats but I was left.  The last one to be chosen so to speak – until Cat’s Cradle came to my rescue!!!  They said the best was saved for last…

They took me to the vet because I have a head tilt and lots of missing teeth.  Dr. Wilson saw right away that I needed dental work.  I had some infections in my mouth and the treatment helped that.  Thankfully, due to recent donations from CCAR supporters, I was able to get the needed medical treatment!

The “rescue” I initially came from said I had been spayed – but that wasn’t quite the truth.  I knew it but I didn’t tell the ladies at Cat’s Cradle.

I went to a nice foster home in James Bay where I went from lap to lap, interacting with everyone.  I sat on their windowsill and drooled a bit when I napped but they loved me anyway.  Then when they could no longer foster I went to a nice foster home with Marie and the first chance I got I raced out the door and went partying for a week.  Finally I was picked up by the Pound where Kathleen recognized me and told on me…

I then went to a foster home with Bev W. and it was very comfy there.  One day she was startled to see me under the desk with what she thought was a mouse.  No way was it a mouse!  It was a kitten – and then another and another and another!  I surprised them all (especially at my age of 9 and with few teeth, raspy breathing, head tilt, etc.) and had four darling healthy kittens.

I then went to a wonderful foster home with teenagers who doted over me and the kids.  They helped find good homes for all the kittens.  I loved them dearly and they loved me, but the same could not be said for their resident felines so I packed my bags once again.

I went to another nice foster home in Victoria and they were great too.  After a few weeks they discovered that I had bad breath and wasn’t eating the dry food – so they called Cat’s Cradle and I went back to Dr. Wilson.  Good thing, as I had a terrible infection of the gums!  Dr. W removed several more teeth but I still have four…

I was rather noisy and talkative in my last home so they felt it best that I find a new place to stay.  I went to Linda’s and slept with her – walking all over her and talking during the night.  Then one day a nice law student named Mark came to visit us cats and he met me.

SO – whew, here I am at Mark’s place with four male students and I am having the time of my life.  Within the first hour I was bonding and connecting with them.  We are a perfect match – me and the guys.  I love them and they love me!  It is marvelous.  I play and play and then conk out for a long nap.  Even if they have the TV or music on I sleep right through it – no problem.  We have lots of fun together.  Life is good!
