Meet Cadabra...

Cadabra is Cat's Cradle's Miracle Kitten! He is a seven month old tuxedo boy who survived Distemper (Feline Panaleukapaenia), which is almost always fatal especially in such a young kitten.

This little guy  watched his two wonderful siblings die from this terrible disease. Although we learned that he had a white blood cell count of almost zero, indicating a massive infection, and a temperature of 104 degrees, he showed no signs of the disease other than being slightly off his food for one day.

Happily, after enduring a lengthy isolation, little Cadabra is now back playing with other kittens as he is supposed to. He doesn't mind being stroked and is learning to enjoy the company of humans but because of his illness, he wasn't handled as much as he should have been.

An amazing kitten, Cadabra is looking for a foster or permanent home.  FYI, Cadabra came to us from a location where there was no evidence of Distemper. None of the other animals in the same environment have come down with it. We have no idea where this disease originated in these kittens. It can lie dormant in the environment for long periods; it is an insidious and dangerous virus, so we are amazed at this little guy.

If you could sponsor or adopt Cadabra, call Beverly at 655-6451 for more information.
