Yuki-chan's Story: |
|
My name is Yuki-chan and I’m a friendly and gentle girl. “Yuki” (pronounced yu’-key) is a common name for girls in Japan and means “snow” and “chan” means “dear” so I am very pleased with my name! I am calm and affectionate and love belly-rubs and having my chin stroked. My favorite spot is the back of the sofa, especially if my foster parents are with me. When they walk from room to room, I jump up and follow them. When my foster mom is lying down I sometimes like to sit on her (and luckily I am small enough that she lets me do this!). Let me assure you that I am an exceptionally well behaved cat! I love to scratch pieces of carpet remnants but I’m not interested in harming the furniture. Sometimes my foster mom and dad play with me with pieces of string or yarn and I prefer this to other toys. Most of the time I prefer to simply sit quietly with my nice foster parents. I want to be sure to mention that I love cat treats, so if you adopt me please have some ready for me! I love to sleep on the bed so I prefer a forever home where the bedroom door is open and I will be welcome. I promise to sleep quietly and not snore. I have a funny habit of falling asleep almost anywhere I happen to be. My foster mom says, “I must watch where I step, since Yuki blends in with the color of our carpet.” I’m now an indoor-only cat but you’d better keep an eye on the door so I don’t accidentally get outside – especially at first. I never scratch or bite. I am always on my best behavior – even at the vet’s office. I am very easy to handle – even when being given a pill. I’ve heard my foster parents say that I’m very sweet and loving, and the feeling is mutual. I really love them too. I admit that I’m still a bit shy but they have helped me build confidence. With new people it will take some time to build my trust, but if you have patience it won’t be long before we’re good friends. I really need a forever home of my own. I have only one favor to ask. I need to be the only cat because I’ve had bad experiences with other cats in the past, so I’ve become afraid of all other cats. I hope you can understand this. I know I will do very well in a quiet household with one or two adults and no children, dogs, or other cats. I would enjoy the company of someone who is home all the time, but would also be content if you go to work every day as there would still be a lot of time for companionship. Please call and come visit me. You’ll be glad you did. |
