Smokey Bear is a lovely cat and has a very sad history. He was abandoned at a vet’s office and needed extensive dental work due to “injuries”. One of Cat’s Cradle’s dearest friends fell in love with Smokey and became his Sponsor and paid for all of his medical needs. Smokey Bear is doing great since his dental surgery and now needs a new home. His original name was Smokey and we call him Smokey Bear because of his strong resemblance to the famous Smokey Bear the forest ranger. Perhaps it’s his black leathery nose or his serious expression and ears standing up like a hat. Smokey Bear, as many cats, prefers to be an only-cat. However, we’ve seen him get along quite well with kittens and young cats, even sharing a cat condo for naps with them. He is not comfortable with fully grown cats and seems to be quite annoyed when they are present. His current foster dad says Smokey Bear is a wonderful cat and follows him around. We will be very happy when Smokey has his very own permanent home where he can settle in and have the long term stability he needs. |
