Roxy's Story: |
|
Roxy is a very laid-back cat with no bad qualities whatsoever. We would not have done it – but she IS front-feet declawed. She has beautiful thick, long hair – and her foster mom says that with regular brushing she doesn’t shed much. Luckily, Roxy just loves being brushed. Roxy is extremely affectionate and loves petting. She will sit on your lap sometimes, but mostly likes sitting beside you on the couch or lying near you on the floor. She loves being near you. She comes when her name is called – even when hiding under the bed. “Roxy” has been her name her whole life. (We know this because she was given up at a vet’s office after her owner went into Hospice.) Roxy’s foster mom says she is content to be home alone all day and doesn’t get into any trouble or create a mess. She simply waits patiently. Roxy is very quiet, only meowing when she wants attention or to get into a room with a closed door. Roxy gets along very well with other cats as though she has been around them her whole life. Although Roxy is around 12, she is very healthy! She still LOVES to play – with yarn, toys, anything. She is much more active than you would think. She is very confident. On the first night at her foster home, she sat with them and they all watched TV. She likes to sleep on the end of the bed at night and in the morning (or anytime she is encouraged) will come and lie on your chest right up near your head. (But strangely, despite her apparent size, she’s not too heavy for this –maybe because she’s all fluff!) She likes to get up at 7 AM and wants you to get up with her. Interestingly, on Sunday she let her foster family sleep in! Update: The very regal Roxy has been adopted by Bonnie and now gets all the attention for herself as an only-cat. She is extremely happy and comfortable in her permanent home. |
