Mitch's Story: |
|
Mitch absolutely craves affection but on his terms. He prefers that you be at his level as opposed to standing above him. He’s very skittish with any sudden sounds or movements and will run to hide and mow down anyone in his path. Therefore he would not be good around children. Mitch loves to play and is extremely active, either playing on his own or with the other resident animals. He loves to sleep with his foster mom every night, curled up with her legs and has even started snuggling up to her when she’s sitting on the couch. He’s very shy around people he doesn’t know and will hide. He does not want to be picked up and is very aware, when being petted, if 2 hands are being used and will then dart out of reach. He loves to “get things started” with the other cats by swatting at them to entice them to a boxing or wrestling match or just a rousing game of “tag you're it”. At first a couple of the other cats were a bit cowed by this behaviour but gradually they realized he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and just wanted to play. He’s a lovely, large (as in big boned &, long legged not overweight) boy with the plushest of coats. Oh and sometimes when you ask him for a kiss, he’ll come over and give you a head butt against your mouth. Mitch needs a home that will be very understanding and patient of his needs and a willingness to give him time to learn to trust and feel safe. |
