Iris is really starting to realize that she is safe and in a good place now she is in a good foster home. She certainly tolerates other cats, although she doesn't seek them out. In another life, this lady must have had some love because she does love to sleep with a person and will purr loudly on the pillow next to you. She was picked up as a stray and ended up at the CRD where she was adopted; however, the adoptive home discovered that she was older than the 4 years that they were told and that she had the beginnings of very early kidney issues and is a bit arthritic and, as a result, she was returned to the CRD. Cat's Cradle has had this girl thoroughly vet checked and she will have be having her teeth scaled in the next month or so; other than that, and a bit of arthritis, she is doing well and easily jumps on the bed, chairs, etc so is not hindered by this at all. Her kidney issue is controllable by a very ordinary diet and she can easily live many more years. Our vet would be happy to discuss this with any prospective adopter. Iris would be PERFECT for a senior person who is looking for a loving knee companion, and who doesn't want a cat that is going to be very active. Iris just wants to hang with her person and sit in their lap or next to them. Do consider this cat, she really deserves this part of her life to be the best part of her life. |
